PieP - An Open Fieldbus Protocol

This blog spot explains the intensions with the PieP Protocol. Piep is short for Process Image Exchange Protocol and will hopefully soon be a member of the internet protocol family. The protocol is used for exchanging process images between devices in an automation environment, just like any other fieldbus protocol. But PieP is SIMPLE! Simple to implmement, easy to configure, easy to understand, easy to use.
